He might be a savoury pancake but he’s no Plain Jane. Introducing the newest recipe to thelittlepancakecompany.com, Aubergine Pancakes!
These delicious aubergine pancakes are the result of being inspired by Jinsop Lee’s Ted Talk on why it’s important to design for all 5 senses. So that’s what we did. We thought long and hard about what combination of flavours could awaken all of the senses and have scored ourselves below on how well we think we’ve done. WARNING: This is going to be more than a little biased given that we’re ranking ourselves!
Smell – the combination of garlic, ginger and chilli is a heavenly combination and pretty strong – let’s go for 4/5
Sight – green from the spring onions, red from the chillies, golden from the ginger – definitely high scores visually – why not a 5/5?
Sound – just like sweet pancakes these sizzle melodically in the pan but it’s not unique to these guys so 2/5
Touch – aubergine has such a unique fleshy texture that’s very satisfying but probably an acquired taste so 2/5
Taste – like an oriental bite of deliciousness. It’s got to be a 5/5.
If you’re anything like me then you won’t go near a pancake that’s not a solid 15 or above. Luckily these are an 18 so why not check out the recipe in the Savoury Pancakes section of our website.
Happy flipping kids.
