Salted Caramel Sauce. It’s one of my favourite things in the world. This pancake topping says ‘my purpose in life is to make you feel better than you do right now.’ And boy does salted caramel sauce succeed in it’s life mission! The combo of salty and sweet makes it irresistible, and it’s the perfect partnered with crepes topped with sugared pecans.
You can also use as a homemade ice cream sauce or to pour over summer berries.
INGREDIENTS
- 35g Butter
- 25g Light Brown Sugar
- 25g Caster Sugar
- 60ml Double Cream
- 1 tsp Salt
METHOD
- Melt the butter and sugar in a pan over a medium heat
- Allow the mixture to simmer and thicken slightly, stirring occasionally
- Add the double cream and salt and mix well
- Pour over crêpes or pancakes and enjoy!
